When You’re Gone ( John Hughes 1950 – 2009 )

Drirector, producer, and writer John Hughes passed away today from a heart attack.

Hughes was an 80’s icon, writing and directing THE BREAKFAST CLUB, SIXTEEN CANDLES, WEIRD SCIENCE, and FERRIS BEULLER’S DAY OFF. He also produced PRETTY IN PINK, SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION, and HOME ALONE.

Hughes was 59 years old.

  1. That's very sad… Hughes was such a pivotal force in the lives of so many who grew up in the 1980's (and beyond) with his very special brand of film making. The themes he explored in his films informed as much as they entertained.

    Our generation has lost a true icon.
