Drirector, producer, and writer John Hughes passed away today from a heart attack. Hughes was an 80’s icon, writing and directing THE BREAKFAST CLUB, SIXTEEN CANDLES, WEIRD SCIENCE, and FERRIS BEULLER’S DAY OFF. He also produced PRETTY IN PINK, SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION, and HOME ALONE. Hughes was 59 years old.

Actor David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok hotel this morning. Carradine starred in KILL BILL vol’s 1 AND 2, BOUND FOR GLORY, and television’s KUNG FU. He was 72.

Actor Paul Newman passed away this morning after a lengthy battle with cancer. The Oscar winner starred in COOL HAND LUKE, THE HUSTLER, BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID, ROAD TO PERDITION, and THE STING. He was 83.
