For the Faithful Departed (RED RIDING Trailer)

I must confess, I haven’t been as on top of trailers as in the past…perhaps that’s because I got tired of them letting me down. I mean I was, after all, the guy who posted the RIGHTEOUS KILL trailer in this space and asked “Doesn’t this look cool?”

However, one thing I used to enjoy about digging for trailers was coming across something a little less-than-obvious. Take this morning for instance. I dug past THE GREEN ZONE, THE A-TEAM, THE KARATE KID (why???) and THE BOUNTY HUNTER. It was only after digging past all this shit, that I was able to find a clip of something that looks a bit daring, and very interesting.

It seems like the sort of movie you’d have to drive a little bit to find, but take a gander at something I think looks pretty good…an entire trilogy of films in factcheck out the trailer for RED RIDING…

  1. I saw these last year. They were made by and shown on Channel 4. I know they where shown in American theatres at various film festivals, looks like your getting them there too. They are excellent, for me the first one is the best but you need to see all three to appreciate the whole story.

In your defence as bad as Righteous Kill was the trailer did look good.

  2. I absolutely love Paddy Considine, so anything he's apart of I'm game to watch. Perhaps one day I'll get around to see this trilogy, but for the time being got lots on my plate!

  3. I too watched these when they originally came out over here and I'd heard they were making it to America and Canada.

I wasn't too impressed with them to be honest. They are extremely grim and the first one in particular I found very tough to watch.

They're worth looking in to just don't get your hopes up too much or like me I suspect you might me a tad dissapointed.

  4. I just got a package of screeners from IFC in the mail yesterday and these three films were included. I had never heard of them until your post just now.

  5. @ Number 6… Never knew that they were made by Channel 4. In that respect I gotta say that the production value looks pretty darned good.

Even more excited knowing you dug 'em.

@ Univarn… Am I imagining things, or wasn't he in a Coldplay video?

@ Thistime… Hmmm, you seem to contradict Number Six…what's a blogger to do? Dark films are actually my bread and butter, so maybe they'll do something more for me than they did for you. Stay tuned.

    @ Aiden… You're welcome πŸ™‚

@ Blake… Screeners!!?? How do I get in on such awesomeness????

  6. Wow, we must be kindred spirits Hatter as I just posted the same trailer this morning! I was intrigued enough when I saw it that I went on researching more about it. I kind of figured Andy might've seen this on Ch. 4 & was curious to hear what he thinks of it. I'll check this out as I like the cast, especially David Morissey and Sean Bean!

  7. @ rtm… I've had moments like that before. My mind really got blown when I read a fellow blogger's review of NINE, and we'd expressed a handful of thoughts almost verbatim.

@ Univarn… Thought so. Love that video.
