Your Ex-Lover is Dead (Full SCOTT PILGRIM Trailer)

Admission: I sometimes feel like posting a trailer is “phoning it in”.

Oh well. As I get back to the working week with the taste of birthday cake still on my tongue, I’m sure you fine folks won’t mind one little stall tactic before I get back to writing reviews and such tomorrow.

It’s also not often that I post both a teaser and full trailer for the same movie, but with the craptastic summer we’re in the midst of, this film is one of the few shining beacons pulling me through to the fall…

  1. After my issue with all the Iron Man 2 trailers, I won't be watching this latest Scott Pilgrim one, but I really freakin' want to. This is gonna kick ass.

  2. I still want to see this. A statement I can place on only a handful of films yet to come out this year. My only worry is that I fear with too short of a run time it'll feel like a forced effort. While too long will drag on its central gimmicks. Though I do wonder if it's meant to be a stand-a-lone film or not, and if so what impact will that have on it.

  3. @ Univarn… I say you spend the time between now and August reading the graphic novel series on which this movie is based.

  4. Loved the first trailer, now I really love this one too…man I can't wait for this!!

With all the comic book adaptations coming out, I missed out on reading Watchmen, Kick-Ass, and the Losers ahead of time…now there's this, RED and some more in the pipeline. I've got to get to work and check out the source material.

  5. @ Aiden… There's much more to this story than there was to I:2. Break the embargo and give it a look. Only once though.

@ Marc… I've been working my way through reading this series since last Christmas. I'm sorta biased towards it because of all the artwork that is set around my hometown.

    @CMrok… I know, right?

    @ Simon… *hands over a kleenex*

@ Ross… We're all geeks around here. Just admit it.

  6. I wish this trailer had been the first; I actually like it better. But, for the record, I'm in the "yeah, I want to see it" camp for Scott, not the "OMG, I'mma kill people if I don't see this NOW!" camp.

Nice to see the Culkin bro in this; he didn't even make the cut for the first trailer.

"I sometimes feel like posting a trailer is "phoning it in"."

That's because it is. 😛 But who am I to talk?

  7. I should probably be more excited about this than I am, given the talent involved, but I think with everything else coming out his year, it just gets lost.

  8. @ Fitz… You and me both!

@ Fletch… Thanks for the support on my "phoning it in" fears. Gotta say while reading the books, I never saw Culkin as the roomate…but then again I never really saw Cera as Pilgrim either.

@ Darren… "Just gets lost"??? Are you kidding me? Next to INCEPTION this movie is my whole damned summer!!

  9. Definitely looks interesting. I mean Edgar Wright is 2 for 2 in my book and i really like the visual look it's shooting for. From the trailer, it looks like Michael Cera will once again play the awkward teen. I wonder if he'll ever have a career once after he gets too old to play these teen roles.
