I suppose I’m a week or two behind most people in posting this trailer, eh?

Once upon a time, I would rush to link such things the moment they dropped, but I guess it’s safe to say that time has passed. Once in a blue moon, you might notice me breathlessly hail the coming of something I’m wickedly looking forward to, but such moments are so few and far between.

TRANSCENDENCE will mark the directorial debut of Wally Pfister. Up until now, Pfister has made his bones as Christopher Nolan’s usual cinematographer – so if you’ve liked the look of The Dark Knight films, or INCEPTION, you might want to give this movie a look. For me, the question surrounding it is what Pfister can do as a storyteller. We’re all well-versed with what he can do visually, but how he’s able to apply that to a wider array of resposibilities is yet to be determined.

What do we think folks – can Pfister pass the muster?

  1. I hope so. It looks cool and I do like the cast very much. Depp, even though he apparently doesn’t have a major role, looks like a normal person and that’s awesome. I’ve missed that.

    1. Said it before, I’ll say it again: I love how you always comment on the trailer posts.

Depp needs to play normal people more often – the guy brings a great deal of subtlety that we don’t get with Captain Jack Sparrow.

Have you ever seen Donnie Brasco?
