The End (Final Thoughts on TIFF 2008)

Though I may complain for the next week or so about being more tired now than back before my vacation began, I wouldn’t change it for the world. This year’s Toronto International Film Festival was great fun – saw some great flicks, met some great people…what else could a movie fan want?

When all the ballots were counted, Danny Boyle’s SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE won the People’s Choice Award, a selection that I truly can’t argue with. For my thoughts on the movie, go here.

As the festival unfolded, it seemed like I was hearing complaint after complaint about the whole experience from various sources. My position is not to bitch, because while everything doesn’t run perfectly, it still runs well enough for my money.

So that’s it for another year. To my two dozen regular readers, thanks for checking in. To my fellow bloggers whose spaces I haven’t visited much for ten days, I’ll get back into the routine shortly soon – I swear. And to those who are new to reading this space, I do write all year long about all sorts of things movie related, so y’all come back now – y’hear?

Now if you’ll excuse me – I’m going back to bed.

  1. Thanks for keeping all of us so far from Toronto updated. I can’t wait for the wide release of some of the films you’ve seen.

  2. Hey Ryan…I’m still trying to get that damn LightBox tune out of my head. You hear something 30 times and it tends to stick with you.

By the way, I just tagged you with a meme, but didn’t have your email. Take a look at my post on it and see if you want to take part…
