Plans (THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU Trailer)

Posting a trailer today feels a little weird. It comes not long after my mentioning on The LAMBcast that I’m not a big fan of trailers. It also follows a filmgoing experience where the entire final act of the film was given to me in the trailer. Then again, I haven’t posted a trailer for a fictional film in more than a month…so in a way, I’m due.

Does anyone else get the hunch that this movie is either going to be spot-on, or way wide? here’s me hoping for the former…and also me suddenly getting a hankering for season four of Mad Men…

  1. I don't think it will be either spot-on or way wide. I think it will just miss the mark. It looks like a cool premise, with some striking visuals. But, I'm not so sure about the talent on display. Sure Damon and Blunt are great, but Terrance Stamp looks like he features heavily into it, and, I've never been very impressed with him.

Who knows, though. Maybe this fusion of THE MATRIX and BOURNE will be very compelling. But, this didn't do enough for me. I'm going in with reservations.

  2. Like they say in Big Trouble In Little China "I have a postive feeling about this." Then again we know how that turned out for Wang.

PS. Hey Hatter send me a email if you get a sec (bryced021@hotmail.com) wanted to ask you about something but could find no contact.

  3. Does that trailer remind you of The Box? I know how much you loved that movie! Philip K. Dick based movies can be a bit hit and miss but even the bad ones are worth seeing. I’m willing to give anything with Emily Blunt in it a go.

BTW, I had the same thought about Mad Men when I saw Roger Sterling/John Slattery in Iron Man 2

  4. im often a terrible judge of trailers (Iron Man 2 looked good) but this looks really really silly. Like Vanilla Sky only with Matt Damon. mind you, i quite liked The Box
    whats in the BOOOOOOX?????

  5. I think this looks really interesting, but I don't know if the plot will feel tired in a feature length film. It sounds so much cooler as a short film…but that's just me.

Seems like a mix between Dark City and The Box…the former being good and the latter, not so much. Still, looks like a rental to me…
