Minnie the Moocher

Being a blogger can have its advantages sometimes. For instance, three days ago when I raised a few eyebrows with the admission that I’d never seen 12ANGRY MEN.

Enter B: A friend, co-worker, and loyal reader who felt such a sheltered existence couldn’t continue. She was nice enough to bring her DVD copy in the very next day and loan it to yours truly (along with METROPOLIS and ARSENIC & OLD LACE – score!). So rest easy my friends, come Monday morning I will have corrected the grievous error of never having seen one of the best films in movie history.

Yes, being a blogger can have its advantages – I just saved $3.99 in rental fees. You know you wish you were me.

Opening in Theatres This Week…

FROST/NIXON
(Opie makes another run at Oscar gold)
NOBEL SON
(Could be interesting in that cult film sort of way)
PUNISHER: WAR ZONE
(Why stop at two bad comic book adaptations?)

  1. “Loyal reader”…I don’t believe I’m familiar with that term…

Man, with the build up you’ve had for “12 Angry Men” I hope you don’t come away underwhelmed. It’s not flashy, but it sure does what it sets out to do.

  2. See? Ask and ye shall receive! That’s awesome that it found it’s way to you. I hope you enjoy it.

Harmph Bob – I’m a loyal reader! That Stevie Wonder vid was awesome, but it wouldn’t let me comment on it. 🙁

  3. Thanks Shannon…B-)

But seriously, you couldn’t comment on that post? I don’t think I’ve changed anything of late. I can’t think of a good reason why that would happen. Let me know if that’s a persistent problem…

Back to our host though…So, how was “12 Angry Men”?

  4. As expected, I enjoyed “12” quite a bit. I’ll be writing about it later this week, at the moment I’m just trying to decide what sort of angle I want to take for a blog post.
