Heaven Help (Mapping Out a Free TIFF 2009)

My TIFF experience just got a bit more amusing.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m focusing on the free events this time out. Well imagine my surprise when I discovered there were so many free events, that I would have to print out a calender and actually map out my week! I’m used to doing that when trying to pick screenings…but for this?

Congratulations TIFF organizers – you really have gone the extra mile to get the city involved. I’m making at least one stop every single day – and I’m not even going to get everything I’d like to see in!

In case anyone’s curious, I think I’m going to start off my week by getting a look at TUFF (The Toronto Urban Film Festival). It’s a series of silent 1 minute films that run in the subway system, with a special kiosk to see them end-to-end being set up in Yonge/Bloor subway station.

After that I might stop at Dundas Square to get a listen and a look at what DJ Champion is doing. I’m still kicking around the notion of dropping by the JENNIFER’S BODY premiere to see if I can snap some photos of Diablo Cody and Amanda Seyfried.

Let the cinematic insanity commence in…three…two…
