Happy Canada Day folks! It’s a day off for all of us up here in the great white north, in honour of our country’s 144th birthday. One amusing tidbit – my American bretheren might have taken up arms to fight for their independence from England. We here in canada just annoyed England long enough that they told us to take a hike and fend for ourselves.

Dif’rent strokes, right?

In honour (note the spelling) of this glorious event, allow me to throw the spotlight on my fellow Canadian bloggers. So before you get out there and enjoy the long weekend (which is likewise a long weekend on the other side of the border – happy 4th gang), take a moment and peruse the following links over a cold bottle of Molson and a plate of steaming poutine.

For your listening and reading enjoyment, I give you…

The CriticalMassCast takes an episode off from the new releases (at just the right time if you ask me) and dedicated an entire podcast to rhyming off their favorite films of all time. Listen in, won’t you?

Kurt and The Kids are back. This time they got to see a guy’s still-beating heart get pulled from his chest in The Temple of Doom. (That’s some great parenting Kurt).

Despite its critical drubbing, odds are I’ll be seeing CARS 2 this weekend. Bob Turnbull didn’t like it…but the guy turned down free Blue Jay tickets this weekend, so what does he know?

Courtney wonders what happened to the career of one of the greatest femme fatales of all time.

A Canadian blogger talking with a Canadian director about a Canadian film – what more can I offer? Joe from Black Sheep talked BARNEY’S VERSION with director Richard Lewis.

Last but not least, my wife’s new bestie Sasha James has a dvd review of the underrated and underexposed I LOVE YOU, PHILLIP MORRIS. Give it a read, but for the love of God don’t get her started on her thoughts toward X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.

Enjoy!
