Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime (Thoughts on TIFF Day 4)

I hope you’ll excuse the scattered random-ness of this post, but it’s late, I’m not nearly done writing, it’s been an amazing day, and tomorrow will take me back to an early start.

Here’s what I learned today, in no particular order…

…The sixth circle of hell is wanting your morning cup of tea and being stuck behind four construction workers ordering for a dozen people each.

…An unexpected truckload of you dear readers have wandered over to my humble blog for news on everything from Page, to Edge, to Shaia, to Portman. Welcome all of you – thanks for taking a moment to read my babblings.

…In case I’ve never mentioned, one of my favorite parts of the whole festival experience is talking with other passionate moviegoers in lines and in the seats near me. To those who I’ve got names and shook hands, and even to the ones whose name I never got, thanks for your company. You make this whole mad caper much more fun.

…That there would be the lovely and talented Elizabeth Banks at the premiere for ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO. Excuse me while I pat myself on the back, but I think I took a pretty good photo!

…The best way to stave off the rain is for me to lug my umbrella with me to my screenings. I promise ya the moment I step outside carrying it, any storms headed towards downtown will quickly stop dead in their tracks.

…The likewise lovely and talented Kevin Smith searches for an answer to a reviewers question (not a bad photo either eh?). He had a far easier time answering my question at the post-screening Q&A, which was “How the hell did you talk your way out of an NC-17?”. I’ll detail his answer later. Tonight I would like to get some sleep in the near future.

Do I Need a Coat?… This time I really can’t tell ya, since Environment Canada lists sun, clouds, and showers for tomorrow. It ‘s supposed to get up to 22 C / 71 F. make of all of that what you will.

Hey, Isn’t That… Breno Silveira was at AMC this moring. Danny Boyle led the SLUMDOG masses at The Ryerson in the evening. Kevin Smith, Elizabeth Banks, and Jason Mewes worked the crowd at Rye tonight.

Dude, You Gotta Try This… If you’re roundabout The Scotiabank Theatre, look for an underground burrito stand on Peter south of John (west side of the road) called Burrito Boyz. You’ll thank me later.
