Break the Cycle

The clock on my computer says 4pm. It might as well say 8:35 as it really feels like this work day has dragged on like no other – even though it’s been a productive one. Go figure.

Fletch listed his top fifty films yesterday, and such listmaking might indeed provide a small releif to the tedium that this particular Friday has been. He said it, I’ll repeat it – these aren’t my choices as the fifty greatest films of all time…these are just my fifty favorites. With that in mind, I will admit that my favorites lean heavily on the classics. What can I say, I’m just one for history *shrugs*.

Here they are for better or for worse, feel free to comment on my tastes and I encourage all fellow bloggers to put one of these up too!

  1. Wow! This is probably the first “favorites” list that I’ve seen all of the films! I’m working on my Fave 50 as well, your list is great! At least half are on mine, and as I look down your list, my reaction is, “loved that one, loved that one, etc.” My list will be up soon, thanks for sharing yours.

  2. All right – you put the bug in my head – I’ll do it. I do need have several “pending” in holding spots – so I’m gonna hold off for a day or two – but check LJ for a list.

  3. Yeah, that really is a list of the classics. Nothing wrong with that, though. They didn’t get to be called that for nothing.

    Yay for boredom cures!

  4. I just watched Mystic River again. Damn, that movie is so much better than I remembered. I also love Gone Baby Gone.

I need to watch Heat again. The first time bored me. I’m sure a second time could change my mind.

Million Dollar Baby? Really? Well, I’m sure a lot of people will say the same thing when Crash shows up on my list. Haha.

High Fidelity – Hell yes! There’s my NUMBER 2!

I’ve never seen The Insider, Lawrence of Arabia, Bull Durham, or The Last Waltz.

You kick ass for having M*A*S*H* on your list.

  5. For those of you who haven’t posted a fifty yet, I can’t wait…for those who have – thanks for the rental ideas.

Gringo…funny thing about M*A*S*H, the tv series never did much for me, but the movie kills me every time.

    “I don’t drink”
“Oh my God – I think he’s serious”
