The World Will Know

Quiet nights in during the summer bring the same routine for my fiancee and I: make a tasty dinner and watch one of our hundreds of dvd’s rather than watch the endless re-runs or reality shows that fill up summer programming. It gets a tad amusing when we get into mid-autumn, because we sometimes forget that our favorite shows have started airing new episodes.

Well that all might end pretty quickly if the Hollywood writers go on strike as threatened on Monday. Along with the fact that variety shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report will come to a screeching halt, serial shows like The Office and Heroes will taper off after they run out of completed scripts. So, if this strike goes on, we might well be reaching to the dvd shelves to keep ourselves entertained.

Depending on how long the strike drags on, it could affect movies too, since Hollywood won’t have anymore scripts to produce. As if that isn’t bad enough, a bunch of scripts have been rushed through in order to try and beat the strike deadline…wanna bet how good those pieces of rush-job-writing are going to be? We might have to soak it up while we can folks. On that note…
