If you want to do a before and after comparison, listen to my intro for this episode, then go back and listen to my intro for episode forty (a pre-TIFF episode). Pretty sure the weariness is audible.

No matter dear friends, as things are slowly but surely returning to normal around these parts…including the podcast two out of five dentists recommend.

Apologies in advance, as I seem to have figured out a setting for my mic that increases the podcast audio, but came with a small unforeseen side effect. Everything oughta be sorted out by the next episode. For now, please enjoy the company of a returning guest this week, one from the heart of Texas.

Here’s what’s in store in the Tom Seaver episode…

  1. If ever there were a “Best of You” segment I’m jealous I didn’t get to take part in, this would be it. Though thankfully most of my favorites were covered (would’ve like a little love for Seven and his small but hilarious role in True Romance).

I know everyone loves Fight Club for the content, tone and message (myself included), but I also give it credit for bringing Pitt back to us. Not long after his “Sexiest Man Alive” crown, he made a string of pretty terrible/forgettable films. Had he continued on that path, he would probably be king of the direct-to-dvd flicks by now. But Fight Club came along and changed the direction of his career for the better. Though there have been some missteps, he’s made some really great films since ’99.

And I don’t convert dvds to Blu-Rays, because I’m just in it to own the film. All those extras I don’t care about.

    1. Indeed Brad is awesome. Sorry you couldn’t guest on this episode, but I’ll do my best to make your top five segment equally as fun for your upcoming appearance.

With blu upgrades, I take it the increase in clarity and such is not a selling point?

      1. Not for me. I’ve found that playing a regular dvd on our t.v. and blu-ray player already increases the clarity. I’m sure the actual blu-ray is even better, but not worth the price tag for me.

  2. Wow, what a blast Ryan! Thanks again and I think my souviner for this episode is to limit my use of the word aloof and to make sure I see Babel and Thelma & Louise:)

    1. Thanks again for coming on buddy. I feel like I leaned back a bit more than usual and let you run the show, but given that I was just coming off TIFF that might not have been the worst idea.
