Saturday night found me in the middle of a conversation I was highly anticipating – namely with the talent behind my favorite doc of the festival so far, and the fascinating man the film is about.

The director telling the story is Neil Berkeley, whose film BEAUTY IS EMBARRASSING had its first Hot Docs showing last night. The man at the centre of the story is Wayne White, and he is every bit as engaging in person as he is within the scope of the film.

The two men were nice enough to chat with me on Markham Street on a balmy evening

Here’s what’s in store in part one…

    1. With four films left to go, it remains as my favorite of the festival.

Glad to hear you got to meet the guys – they were very gracious and encouraging when I spoke to them for this show.
