I won’t sit here and pretend to be the world’s biggest punk fan. I mean I know who the difference between Sheena and Judy, even though both were punks, but couldn’t call out Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, or The Melvins based on sixteen bars.

Still, I have a great respect for it. The immediacy of punk…the primal nature of it…the angst that feels a need to be expressed in three chords and three minutes.

All of that – the immediacy, the primal instinct, the angst – is gloriously present in the latest film from the creator of BLUE RUIN. After getting an early look at the film back at TIFF 2015, I can assure you…it will stand as one of the best early offerings in theatres this year.
