Fortunate Son (CASINO JACK AND THE UNITED STATES OF MONEY Trailer)

While this weekend will be all about KICK-ASS and the fun that comic book movies can bring, the shadow of Hot Docs is looming larger and larger by the day. have I hyped it up enough yet? One of the movies that are playing this year is CASINO JACK AND THE UNITED STATES OF MONEY, a movie that looks like it will entertain, and probably make me shake my head more than once.

We’re all still trying to put the surreal shit show of the last eight years behind us folks…here’s hoping a film like this can help us all move on.

  1. Now this is a doc I can get behind! Also, thanks for using a post title for a song I know 🙂

  2. Really, that movie Kick Ass is everywhere! I don't get it. Is it because it has the word "ass" in it? Just wondering why the hype? It's not like it's another Xmen or Iron Man. Hm.
Interesting trailer. Will have to check it out, if anything to learn a little more. 8 years was a loooooong time. So long. It felt like I was being rounded up by hooting & hollaring Texans, wrapped up in rope and forced to watch as they set fire to … well, you get the image. Is your children learning?

  3. I'm seeing "Kickass" this weekend too — can't wait! I secretly want Christopher Mintz-Plasse to talk nerdy to me … and that's not sick or dirty because he's LEGAL now.

Any talk you heard about me remarking how "hot" Daniel Radcliffe was in the earliest "Potter" films is, like, totally false.

  4. @ Univarn… One of my very favorites. I couldn't believe that in nearly three years of writing this blog I hadn't used that one already

@ Wild Celtic… KICK-ASS is indeed based on a rather popular comic book series, hence the heavy hype. Early word I'm hearing is good, so it might indeed be worth a look (Check this space Sunday morning for my review).

I was indeed a tough eight years for you fine folks to the south of me. Here's hoping the storm clouds have cleared for a while.

@ Meredith… Heh, you amuse me. I must quote the fake motivational poster that was titled 'Twi-Moms': If it were a bunch of forty something guys, screaming over a seventeen year old girl, someone would have called the cops by now.
