Another year in the books.

Part of me is sad to see it go, because if nothing else, most of the content on this site was writing itself thanks to the annual year-end hullabaloo. Starting Tuesday, I’ll have to go back to actually cranking out the material. On the other hand, 2013 wasn’t always the easiest year for me in many things non-movie-related, so in that respect I’m not sad to see it go.

So for the first wrap-up of 2014, we dedicate it it to what many of y’all had to say about 2013 – specifically people’s best-of lists and such. I’m even going to keep updating it in the coming days for any slowpokes who still haven’t posted such things…so if you want to be linked, drop me a line.

  2. I love that, no matter how many best of the year list I look at, there are always one or two films that: a) I discover for the first time or b) I am reminded that I need to see.

    1. I think that’s a good part of year-end lists, right? Not just to parrot what everyone else is saying, but also to pepper in some underexposed goodness in the hopes that you can pass along the goodness (Breakdown is easily my champion in that respect).
