Quite honestly: I’m running on fumes. So pardon me while I steal a regular Friday phrase from my friends over at Row Three:

“Talk amongst yourselves”

For your listening and reading fulfillment, I give you…

If you’re still pulling together your TIFF selections, Mamo has you covered. Listen in as the gents talk about various films that have their eye.

I’d all but written off LAWLESS after hearing so many bad things about it, but then along comes Joe who believes it’s worth a look.

Over at Flixchatter, Ruth is starting the engine on a new blog-a-thon. Go look, and start mulling over a contribution.

A limited new release I’m hoping to squeeze in before TIFF is COMPLIANCE. Looks like Shala got to a showing somewhere along her seemingly-neverending travels, and while she’s not sure whether she can recommend  it, she’s certainly sure it made an impression.

Everybody is getting into the Top Ten game these days. Just sneaking in prior to the best-before date? Simon Columb.

You know that amazing scene in THE SOCIAL NETWORK where Rooney Mara just kills it? No, not that scene – that other scene where she kills it. Allow Nick to remind you.

So we can all agree that Disney tends to make films for children, right? Well what better critic to discuss their latest live-action offering than a five-year-old child?

The Toasties over at French Toast Sunday have been counting down their favorite actors under 25 for a few days now. This week, they finally reached the top five (and for my money arrived at a worthy number one).

As for the Tweet of The Week, I tend not to highlight those made by famous folk, but the showrunner of  “Modern Family” summed up my bemusement with the state of American politics this week:

Enjoy!

  1. Thanks, man! Appreciate the link! I loved writing that post. Get some rest. You gotta get yourself geared up for TIFF. I’m already anticipating your coverage.

Oh, and that tweet is beautiful.

  2. Thank you for the link love, Ryan! I hope you’d take part as well, it’s a couple of weeks after TIFF is over so perhaps you’d highlight a performance from one of the TIFF screenings? 😀

And that post by Nick is brilliant! Now I’m checking out the Lawless review.

    1. Hopefully I’ll have my own LAWLESS review up tomorrow, so yo can check that out too if you like. Things on the site settle down a lot once I get out of September, so hopefully I can in fact take part and offer up some great performances for your blog-a-thon.

    2. I’ll check out your Lawless review! Oh I do hope you’ll offer at least one performance for the blogathon, Ryan, I’d be so honored.
