Thoughts From Your Host…

Knowing that “Big Little Lies” and “The Handmaid’s Tale” both air on Sunday nights make me really happy that this podcast posts on a Monday morning. How the heck do any of us face Monday mornings coming away from all of that dark lunacy?

There’s a lot going on in this episode. There are dark confessions, there is confused reaction, there are sexy sentences, and there is a lot of laughter. All of these things are qualities that my guest has brought into our friendship over the few short years I have known her…and for all of that I am deeply thankful. What’s more, I’m thankful that you fine folks get to hear even a bit of that on-mic.

As for the topic at-hand…well…it’s a weird topic. This movie that has dropped into the middle of our summer is many things to many people. Some will call it a garbage fire, some will call it genius. Some will leave the cinema in repulsion, some will shrug and be ambivalent. All of these reactions are valid, but no matter which reaction one has…one must admit…this film leaves a lot to be discussed.

To that end – to steal a detail from a great television comedy – we got y’all.
