okja

Lost amongst the business of my four screening week was the fact that two guest podcasting spots went live last week. I had a ball on both shows – and that’s a testament to how much I think of both shows, since the vibe around each show is rather different.

The first of the two was a conversation about OKJA with three Jamaicans on TUMP (“The Unnamed Movie Podcast”).

OKJA is available for all courtesy of Netflix these days, though I wonder here – as I do on the podcast – if my opinion might have changed if I’d gone to see a screening of it at Lightbox. Besides making for a pair of four-screening weeks in a three-week stretch, I also spent much of the time leading up to OKJA working through a packed schedule. So while I wonder if a dark room and a huge screen might have done me some good, those details might have been more than offset by a good night’s sleep and a comfy couch.

The atmosphere on TUMP is one of my favorite things to be a part of…and something I actually hope to tap into more in the near future…but that’s a story for another time.

The episode can be found here. Any comments about how wrong I am can be left below.
