For a few years now, the local film enthusiasts have been filling out surveys at year-end, coming to some sort of consensus for the best films of the year. We call ’em the CAST Awards (Cinema Appreciation Society of Toronto).
In addition to rattling off ten films that tickled our fancy the most, the locals have also made it tradition to sit down in January and roll tape on the ins and outs of the films discussed. This year we got both a few new voices into the fray and the most amount of guests present. As usual, the passive aggressive barbs can only stay bottled for so long.
So listen in as we drink, talk, argue, and agree on the in’s and out’s of a very good year at the movies.
