A few weeks ago, when I put up this post about how one could have a great movie-goin’ summer, it gave my friend Greg an idea. He thought it might be fun to dedicate an entire episode of his podcast, CriticalMassCast, to going through the summer programme at our favorite cinematheque: The TIFF Bell Lightbox.

So he and I got together for a bite and rolled tape on what is shaping up to be a truly stellar summer of movie watchin’ at the venue. There’s a lot to be had at the corner of King and John over the next few months – one could actually enjoy quite the summer of counter-programming surrounding one’s self with Goddard, Stallone, Marley, Marilyn and Spielberg.

Seriously folks – I’m considering just getting my mail forwarded there.

At one point in the discussion, we both mention how much we’re looking forward to GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES. That screening has already happened, and I can say for a fact that both Greg and I were overjoyed with how much fun that film is!

So grab your doofy headphones, click here and give a listen to my conversation with Greg Ashman from the CriticalMassCast.

  1. Thanks for linking the episode Ryan!! Had a blast talking up all this material with you. Plus yes, “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” definitely got the ball rolling in style!! A great time at the cinema indeed.

    1. Anytime buddy, and again thanks for inviting me on despite having three other co-hosts to choose from.

I’m still stupefied by just how much I adored BLONDES.
