There’s been an ongoing debate here in Toronto over food trucks, and whether or not the city wants to allow them to set-up camp. Just this past week, the matter was finally settled…and in a matter befitting my city (my city being habitually and almost comically short-sighted), the settlement leaves a lot to be desired. Whatever, at least I can finally find taste treats like fish tacos and pulled pork sandwiches in neighbourhoods that are usually culinary wastelands.

Right on cue arrives Jon Favreau with his latest bit of writing and directing.  It’s hard to tell how good this film will be from the trailer, but as a person with a weakness for films about food what I’m seeing here holds promise.

Maybe it’ll even get the people who run my city to wake the hell up.

  1. Barring the actual food bits (more movies about food, please!), the entire trailer is actually kinda meh but I’ll watch it for the cast.

  2. I’m interested in seeing this one, but kind of bummed that it got dismal reviews out of SXSW. I’m such a fan of Favreau’s early work, but haven’t been able to fully get into his films in a long while. Bummer.
