2015 has been a funny year at the movies for me…with very very few movies finding that weak spot in my chest and really hitting me where it counts. It’s not a sign of it being a “bad year” (I sorta hate that term), just a year where only a small smattering of movies got me on an emotional level.

Which is rare.
No, really.
Please, believe me.
I’m going to cry if you don’t believe me.

One such movie is a film that played TIFF which seems to be poised to bow before the year is out…and I dearly hope it does since it’s tenderness and emotional honesty is something I really think audiences could truly connect with.

Who would have known that a movie made with puppets would feel so achingly human?

Charlie Kaufman, that’s who.
